'YSR knew only saving lives, not taking'

“Late Chief Minister Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy only knew saving lives, not taking lives,” said YSRCP MLA Kodali Venkateswara Rao (Nani).

He made these comments when the ruling TDP MLAs tried to blame late YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Speaking during the debate on the law and order situation in the assembly, Nani said,“All of us must remember that Arogyasri scheme, introduced by Dr.Rajasekhar Reddy, saved the lives of several poor people.”

“The village of Gottimukkala is only two kms away from a national highway. The vice president of our party, who was active there, was brutally killed by TDP leaders. The local police officials did not take any action. When they took some action, it was only due to the pressure built by us. The police are acting in sucha a way due to the pressures from a minister,"said the MLA.
