YS Jagan’s Pro-Poor War Cry: Stop Wrecking Arogya Sri
* Massive dharnas across the states to protest weakening of Arogya Sri.
* YSRCP vows to intensify stir against the Government’s moves.
* From 2000 applications a day, the applications have come down to 1200 now.
* Collector scoots before Jagan submits a memorandum.
* The Arogya Sri arrears are around Rs 1800 crore. But, the Government has released a mere Rs 568 crore.
Sounding a war cry against the Government's neglect of Arogya Sri programme, YSRCP chief YS Jagan said he and his party would force Chandrababu Government to stop systematic wrecking of the pro-poor scheme.
Addressing a massive dharna at the collectorate in Ongole on Friday, YS Jagan said ever since Chandrababu came to power, the Arogya Sri and the 108 service - the twin quality healthcare and health access programmes - have been watered down and the scheme is being systematically wrecked from inside.
Arogya Mitras, who used to assist the poor patients, have been marginalised and the systems have been weakened, he pointed out. The Arogya Sri payments to network hospitals have been stopped for the last six months, YS Jagan said.
YSR has ushered in a golden era to alleviate the lot of the poor. Arogya Sri was his flagship programme that helped the poor and the marginalised to access quality healthcare in times of need. But, Chandrababu has undone everything, he said.
He said while the Arogya Sri arrears are around Rs 1800 crore, the Government has released a mere Rs 568 crore. Last year too, there were arrears of the order of Rs 319 crore. While 2000 Arogya Sri applications used to be filed every day, the number has fallen to 1200 now, he said.
To demand that the Arogya Sri, which provides succour to lakhs of poor and the marginalised, the YSRCP is organising dharnas at all district headquarters, YS Jagan said and added that he and his party would wage a relentless battle for the cause of the people.
Across the state, YSRCP leaders and activists staged dharnas in front of the district headquarters demanding that Government stop weakening Arogya Sri.
