YS Jagan’s Padayatra Reminds Us Of Dr YSR’s Praja Prasthanam
Vijayawada: YSR Congress Party Spokesperson Ambati Rambabu recalled the historic padayatra, Praja Prasthanam taken up by former Chief Minister late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy as a revolution that led to him becoming the CM. In his mammoth walkathon, Dr YSR covered 1475 kilometers from Chevella to Ichchapuram, he said and added that during the padayatra he met numerous people from different walks of life to understand their problems.
Amabati observed that the padayatra helped him to understand people's problems and later when he became the CM he initiated schemes that were directly beneficial for the people. "Free power, Aroyga Sri, Fee reimbursement. 108, 104, etc. were all introduced by the great leader after his close interaction with the masses. But after Chandrababu Naidu came to power all these people-centric schemes have been made non-functional."
He alleged that not even 10 of the 600 promises have been fulfilled by the TDP rulers. It was unfortunate that Chandrababu had poached MLAs from opposition and even gave them ministry, he remarked. It was to expose the corrupt nature of the Chandrababu government that YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken up Praja Sankalpa Yatra, Ambati pointed out. He asserted that TDP misrule would come to an end with Praja Sankalpa Yatra.
The YSRCP Spokesperson observed that just like late Dr YSR's padayatra, YS Jagan's Praja Sankalpa Yatra was receiving overwhelming response from the public. He questioned why Chandrababu was going to Singapore when the entire state was fighting for Special Category Status. "Chandrababu pledged the interests of the state for personal gains," he added
