A life-size-statue of APJ Abdul Kalam unveiled at Peikarumbu in Rameswaram

Hyderabad: The YSRCP President and the leader of Opposition in the AP legislative Assembly, Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday remembered Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on the occasion of the late President’s first death anniversary.

“Abdulkalamji said difficulties come to strengthen us. He inspired a Nation with his thought & action. To tread his path is the best tribute.” Y.S Jagan tweeted on the occasion.


A life-size statue of former president was unveiled at Peikarumbu in Rameswaram on Wednesday on the occasion of his first death anniversary.

Y.S Jagan on Wednesday congratulated Bezwada Wilson, the Human Rights activist on being chosen for the Ramon Magsaysay Award for 2016.

“Bezawada Wilson has been working to uplift the marginalized sections of the society and the Award is recognition of his efforts”, said Y.S Jagan.

50-year-old Wilson, born into a Dalit family involved in manual scavenging in Kolar Gold Fields township in Karnataka, was the first in his family to pursue a higher education. He is the national convenor of the ‘Safai Karmachari Andolan’
