Jagan wants Chandrababu to waive crop loans immediately
YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday strongly demanded that AP's chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu keep his word on crop loan waiver. He said that as the time for the all-important Kharif season is nearing, loans should be given immediately.
In an open letter to Chandrababu Naidu, YS Jagan said that Chandrababu and his party have even given adverts in the newspapers asking the farmers not to repay loans and they would waive them when they come to power. Now that they have come to power, why is the delay, Jagan asked. (Naidu hoodwinking farmers on loan waiver: YSRCP)
He said it was already second week of June and the farmers have not got crop loans. Now it is the time to implement the loan waiver scheme and why was a committee being appointed on the issue.
Chandrababu on Sunday, announced the setting up of a committee to work out modalities to waive loans of farmers, women self-help groups and weavers. He also said that the panel would submit its report within 15 days and he would implement the report in 45 days.
Jagan pointed out that the TDP duping of the people of AP continues even in case of the welfare pensions. While Babu had earlier assured to pay between Rs 1000 to 1500 towards welfare pensions, he now says it would be done in two phases. In case of belt shops, Chandrababu has signed on an order abolishing belt shops. Since all belt shops are illegal, where was the question of abolishing them, asked Jagan. He said what is needed is strong will to eradicate belt shops.
Jagan asked Chandrababu to keep his electoral promises and advised him not to end up backtracking on what he had promised.
