YS Jagan – A Leader Who Dared to Tread on a Road Less Travelled
Some people take the easy path. They encounter no challenges. They undertake no adventure. They end up as ‘Also Rans’’. But, some dare to take on a road less traveled. They encounter challenges, they face vicissitudes. But they display true grit and gumption. They fight their way up, defy the status quo and win hearts.
Those who tread the road less traveled encounter fierce opposition, abject derision and inveterate heckling. The opponents conspire to halt them on their tracks. Yet, a true leader claws his way up and turns stumbling blocks into stepping stones. Opposition fails to dampen their spirits. Nor does criticism. Such leaders go on to make history.

Yes! We are talking about YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The YSRCP leader had the easy option of bowing to high command and tread the beaten track. But, he chose a difficult path and carved his own niche. As a leader, YS Jagan has few parallels.
After the demise of his father,YS Jagan through his various outreach programmes won many hearts. Through his Odarpu Yatras and Yuva Bheris, he ensured that he always fights for the people’s cause. Through his deekshas, he has shown his fighting streak. Today, he is the only leader crisscrossing the state of Andhra Pradesh and without doubt the biggest crowd puller in the state. His charisma and his unique style of people’s connect have endeared him with people across the State.
It is because of this that Chandrababu is wary of Jagan. The fear is because of YS Jagan’s undeniable charisma. Chandrababu knows very well that he pipped past YSRCP by a mere hair breadth. The margin of victory between the present ruling dispensation and the Opposition YSRCP is a paltry five lakh votes. He also knows that this razor thin majority is mainly due to the alliance he cobbled up with the BJP and the help he got from Pawan Kalyan. It is to Jagan’s credit that he did not dole out false promises like loan waivers at the time of elections. He steadfastly refused take the bait as he realised that it was not possible to implement it. Due to this, he did lose the elections by a whisker, but held a moral high ground.

Chandrababu knows that Jagan can defeat him in any future election. So, he lured some of the YSRCP MLAs but that failed to deter Jagan. Today, slew of false promises and non-performance are staring Chandrababu in his face. There are cracks within the TDP-BJP alliance. It is this false assurances that are proving to be Chandrababu’s nemesis now.
It’s advantage Jagan now. Jagan is the only leader today who finds ready acceptance among the people. The huge crowds that gather at his meetings and road shows show that the future belongs to him.
