YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Pays Homage to Bojja Tarakam
Hyderabad: YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy paid homage to Dalit leader and civil rights activist Bojja Tarakam. He has expressed profound grief over the death of Bojja Tharakam. YS Jagan on Saturday consoled family members of Bojja Tarakam at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram, where the body of Dalit leader was kept.
YS Jagan said: “Bojja Tarakam had worked relentlessly for the uplift of Dalits throughout his life. Bojja Tharakam has taken up several issues of Dalits and had been a guiding force in the state.”
K Ramachandra Murthy, Editorial Director at Sakshi Group of Publications, party leader Parthasarathi, former MLA Vishwaroop and other party leaders recalled the services of Bojja Tarakam, who passed away on Friday night 10:20 pm at his residence at Ashok Nagar in the City.
He was 77 and suffering from brain cancer for the past four years. The cremation will be held at 4 pm on Saturday at Mahaprasthanam in Filmnagar. Bojja Tarakam argued the case pertaining to Rohit Vemula’s social boycott at University of Hyderabad. Tarakam had established AP Dalita Maha Sabha and has also served as the President of Republican Party of India (RPI).
