YS Jagan Demands CBI Inquiry Into Murder Of Cherukulapadu Narayana Reddy
Pulivendula: YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday demanding a CBI inquiry into the murder of Pattikonda YSRCP in-charge Cherukulapadu Narayana Reddy.
Addressing the media here on Tuesday, he said it is very clear that the murder was the handiwork of AP deputy chief minister KE Krishnamurthy and has the blessings of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. "How can an incident take place in the deputy CM's constituency and he is not aware of it?" the leader of opposition said.
"By killing a promising leader, our rivals cannot finish us off. We will not be leaderless in the district. The YSRCP will win with a majority of over 50,000 majority from this constituency in the next elections," YS Jagan thundered.
Giving out the sequence of events leading to the gruesome murder, the YSRCP chief said Narayana Reddy had filed a case against Krishnamurthy's son and waged a relentless battle against illegal sand miners. Further, there was a delay in renewing his gun license and his licensed weapon was not returned to him though polls were long over. "These events clearly show that there was a conspiracy to eliminate Narayana Reddy," he said.
Replying to a question, the leader of opposition said there should not be a polling for important posts like the president of the country or the speaker of the Lok Sabha. "A consensus candidate should be chosen by all the parties. This will enable the candidate to be neutral when dealing with important issues," YS Jagan said citing the example of YSRCP's support to Kodela Sivaprasad for the speaker's post during the election to the Andhra Pradesh assembly.
