YS Jagan challenges security scale down

YSRCP chief and leader of the Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday challenged the TDP government's decision of exempting 'Z' security cover extended to him.

In the petition, he mentioned that the decision was taken with political motive and reguested the court to restore the security cover provided to him since three years. He said the TDP government reduced the security despite the fact that he was Leader of Opposition and enjoys cabinet rank. YS Jagan said he faced threat to his life from Maoists and factionists.

It may be recalled that YS Vijayamma and YS Sharmila had approached the HC seeking restoration of their security after Government withdrew protection. On Monday, the Government has restored the security for the two leaders after the Threat Perception Reports indicated a threat to their lives.
