YS Jagan Bail Cancellation Petition Dismissed By CBI Court

YS Jagan emerges victorious at CBI Court after the petition against his bail was dismissed on Friday  - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: A CBI court here on Friday dismissed a petition seeking cancellation of bail granted to YSR Congress Party chief and Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

CBI filed the petition seeking cancellation of Jagan Mohan Reddy's bail on the grounds that he was trying to influence witnesses in an ongoing case involving his assets. He was granted bail by the court after 16 months in jail in the case.

Referring to an interview of retired chief secretary R. Ramakanth Reddy which was aired on Sakshi TV sometime back, CBI alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy was trying to influence the witnesses in the case as the channel belongs to him.

However, Jagan's lawyer Niranjan Reddy argued that his client was in no way concerned with Ramakanth Reddy's interview as the editorial board decides those matters.

After hearing arguments from both the sides, the court dismissed the petition as it found no connection between the said interview and Jagan Mohan Reddy.

As the case was dismissed, the YSRCP chief is also now allowed to travel to New Zealand on a family tour.

Welcoming the CBI court's decision, YSRCP said in fact it was Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu who tried to influence the court by repeatedly mentioning about the case in public meetings. "The court decision is a slap on Chandrababu's face," said the party spokesman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
