Youth Kills BTech Student, Commits Suicide After Elders Object To Their Marriage
Siddipet: In a gruesome incident, a BTech student was killed by her lover as she refused to die in a suicide pact at Maskanpet village in Siddipet district on Thursday. Later, the youth committed suicide by hanging himself.
According to the police, M Sushmitha (22), who was an engineering student was in love with the 25-year-old Madhu for the past five years. Both of them belonged to Anantaram village in the district.
As their love affair was brought to the notice of Sushmitha's mother Venkatamma, she refused for the the proposal as Madhu belonged to a different caste.
Venkatamma's husband had deserted her when Sushmitha was born. Since then, Venkatamma brought up and educated Sushmitha with much struggle. So her mother was hoping a good future for Sushmitha.
On the pretext of keeping away from Sushmitha, Madhu came to Hyderabad and joined a baker unit recently.
On Thursday, Madhu attended a marriage function of his friend at Siddipet town. He called up Sushmitha and asked her to come near a poultry farm at the location to meet him.
When she arrived at the location, Madhu mixed pesticide in a soft drink bottle and asked Sushmitha to end life in a suicide pact as their elders were objecting to their marriage. However, Sushmitha refused to oblige with Madhu and tried to escape from there.
Madhu picked up an argument and assaulted her physically. He then strangulated her to death. Later, he committed suicide by hanging himself at the farm. The police said that the girl lost her eye during the attack. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
