“DWACRA women have cell phones, but they don’t have latrines in their homes,” astonished Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu.

Addressing DWACRA women at Nakkapalli in Visakhapatnam district on Saturday, he asked the women to raise their hands who have cell phones. Then, so many women raised their hands. The chief minister then promised them cell phones soon who have no cell phones.

Chandrababu again asked them to raise their hands who have latrines. This time, only a few of them raised their hands. With this, he commented that they have cell phones but they don’t have latrines. “We will construct latrines for every house in the state within five years,” promised the chief minister.

“Women’s role must be there in the development of the state. The development can take place only when the women can stand on their feet. Anything can be achieved with the power of the women,” commented Chandrababu.

Readying to compete with his Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao on development, he said, “In the past, so many leaders tried to compete with me on development. But, all of them failed ultimately. I had developed Hyderabad and then only its income multiplied. However, it is only a good omen to compete in development.”
