Yoga Behind Chris Gayle Comeback
West Indies opener Chris Gayle hit the peak of his batting form in the ongoing IPL 2018 yesterday, when the Kings XI Punjab defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by a margin of 15 runs. Gayle struck a swashbuckling 100 off just 55 balls, 11 out of which were sent out of the field for sixes.
After being sidelined for the first two IPL games of the season by the KXIP, Gayle was at his aggressive best in the match against Chennai Super Kings. The Kings XI won the match by a margin of just four runs, despite MS Dhoni's heroics during the CSK run chase, thanks to the West Indian's speedy 63 from just 33 balls.

Although he admitted to getting disheartened by the disinterest of any of the IPL franchisees during the players auction earlier this year, a smiling was Gayle was seen happy and relaxed after the match. “A lot of people thought I’m too old. After this innings, I have nothing to prove. This hundred is dedicated to my daughter. It is her birthday tomorrow. This is a good wicket to bat on, just have to go out and defend it. I’m very dedicated. Since joining Kings XI Punjab, Sehwag told me to stick with the yoga guy and a massage guy; that’s the secret, I guess. In a week’s time, I will be able to touch my toes,” Gayle said post-match yesterday.
Popular yoga guru and mystic, Sadguru lamented Chris Gayle's use of yoga for keeping fitness in his tweet. "If you do the right things, right things will happen. #Yoga is an exploration of how to do it right. Congratulations @henrygayle. -Sg @virendersehwag #KXIPvSRH #IPL," read his tweet.
In a lighter vein moment, Gayle credited KXIP coach Virender Sehwag for saving the IPL by picking him in the auction. In this regard, Sehwag took to Twitter to acknowledge it. His tweet read: "I saved the IPL by picking - @henrygayle."
Gayle later replied to Sehwag's tweet agreeing to his words, by saying a "yes."
