Yet Another Lesbian Marriage Takes Place In Bengaluru
Bengaluru: Two women gave a damn to society's norms and listened to their heart to get married to one another at a temple at Koramangala in Bengaluru. This could be termed as the first 'lesbian' wedding in Bengaluru or may be in the country.
The 25-year-old woman got married to a 21-year-old and the former works at a BPO while the latter is studying BCom. The older woman says that she liked her ‘wife’ who was in teens when they first met a few years ago. She said that she didn’t express her 'love' as her wife comes from an orthodox family and developed rapport by taking her to malls, gifting her items, etc. She expressed her love to her younger mate on a suitable occasion but she first rejected it. The older woman convinced her by laying bare her emotions for her.
The duo planned to elope from their houses in May 2017, but after finding a suitable house they moved to a house in Kormangala. However, all hell broke loose after their respective families had come to know about their wedding and lodged a complaint with the police. But to their dismay, the police refused to act as there is no complaint from either of the women.

The parents have now approached Vanitha Sahayavani in police commissioner’s office. And the two women have approached an NGO and informed the police that they don’t want to go back home.
Meanwhile, mixed views have been pouring in over the lesbian marriage as some say that both are adults and can’t be booked, while others say that same sex marriage is not legalized in India.
