Xiaomi Redmi 3S to hit Indian market

Mumbai: Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Xiaomi will roll out Redmi 3S in Indian market. The Chinese major has confirmed the launch of smartphone and its price. Redmi 3S will be available in the Indian market from August 3, 2016.

The company will also live stream the launch of Redmi 3S on its website. The Redmi 3S smartphone was launched in China back in June and came in two variants based on memory and inbuilt storage - the 2GB of RAM with 16GB of inbuilt storage model is priced at CNY 699 (approximately Rs. 7,000), and the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage model is priced at CNY 899 (approximately Rs. 9,000).

The new model is another variant of the Redmi 3 and it comes with the feature of the fingerprint scanner at the back. It supports a hybrid dual-SIM (Micro + Nano) slot, and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop-based MIUI 7. The Redmi 3S features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display, and packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at 1.1GHz clubbed with the Adreno 505 GPU.

There is also a 5-megapixel selfie camera with 1080p video recording capability. The handset is backed by a 4100mAh battery, measures 139.3x69.6x8.5mm, and weighs 144 grams.
