Wrong Parkers Will Now Be Sent to Jail

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police has cracked the whip on city motorists who are parking their vehicles in wrong places. As per the latest rules, a repeated offender caught three times in a row for wrong parking will be prosecuted and imprisoned for the offense.

Jitender, Additional Commissioner of Police (traffic) said that due to surge on road accidents with haphazard parking and parking anywhere according to the motorists fancy has posed a serious problem in the city.

"Earlier we issued challans, but here on we will file charge-sheets," he added.

As per traffic police data, nearly two lakh challans are issued every month for parking violations. A motorist is fined between Rs 200 to Rs 1000 for wrong parking.
