Women quiz Naidu during Padayatra

Women quiz Naidu during Padayatra - Sakshi Post

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu today faced an awkward situation in his Vastunna Meekosam Padayatra at Gadwal in Mahbubnagar district, when a group of women raised slogans against him for the acute shortage of drinking water in the town.

As Naidu began addressing the gathering with his usual opening remarks against the Congress and the YSR Congress parties, a large number of women holding empty vessels and pots raised their voice against him. They openly criticized him in front of all those present in his walkathon. Naidu, who was taken aback, tried to wriggle out of the piquant situation by saying that he is in Opposition and that he is not responsible for the current situation.

When the women continued their tirade, Naidu told them to ask the Congress, which is in power and also said he had just started his Padayatra to learn about people's problems, but not to solve them. Ignoring his appeal, the women protesters pointed at, what they called,  injustice done to them during his (Naidu's) rule.
This is not for the first time that Chandrababu Naidu faced the ire of women. When he was addressing a  gathering during his ongoing Padayatra for the sixth day at Peruru in Raptadu constituency last month, accompanied by Paritala Sunitha,  a woman from the crowd, Mutyalamma, shouted at him saying that they did not get any benefits at all during the TDP era or during the present Congress dispensation. When she continued to narrate her problems, the TDP activists allegedly snatched the mike from her.

SP View: Analysts feel that if this is the stand Naidu takes now, then tomorrow even if he comes to  power there is no guarantee that he will not blame his predecessors for the mess and escape from problems.
