Muzaffarnagar: Five women candidates, all from different parties, contesting the local body election in Uttar Pradesh's Budhana town have been booked for violating the model code of conduct, police said today.

The candidates, who were booked yesterday and are vying for the Budhana nagarpalika chairperson post, represent the BJP, SP, Congress, BSP and RLD, an official said. The list includes actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's sister-in- law, Saba Siddiqui, who is being fielded by the Samajwadi Party.

The others are Bala Tyagi (BJP), Sadhna Tyagi (RLD), Nasreen Rahi (BSP) and Rehana Begum (Congress), said sub-divisional magistrate Kumar Bhupender. PTI
