Woman Immolates Self After Husband Rubbishes Her Cooking Skills 

A 23-year-old woman ended her life after her husband chided her for not being able to cook food. According to the police, the incident occurred in Sainagar Colony of Byramalguda under LB Nagar police station limits.

Sudini Srilatha (23) of Miryalguda in Nalgonda district married Anant Reddy in February this year and the couple have been staying in Sainagar of Byramalaguda. Even before the marriage, Srilatha and her parents told Anant Reddy that she cannot cook. But, family members claim that Anant Reddy and his parents have opted for the alliance saying that they would teach her how to cook. However, for the past few days, Reddy has been regularly complaining about her cooking skills. Unable to bear it any longer, she set herself on fire on November 16 when the husband has gone out on some work.

A badly burnt Srilatha was rushed to Gandhi Hospital and has been under treatment ever since. On Monday, she succumbed to the burn injuries. Based on a complaint by Srilatha's parents, the police have registered a case and are investigating.
