Woman Hangs Children, Commits Suicide

Nizamabad: A 26-year-old woman, Aruna, allegedly hanged her two children and then committed suicide, in Nizamabad district on Sunday.

The incident occurred in Pati Tanda (hamlet) under Dharpally police station limits in the district. The deceased children included an eight-month-old girl and a five-year-old boy. As per preliminary investigation, Aruna had quarrelled with her husband Srinivas over his plans to marry her younger sister. He allegedly beat Aruna, who resorted to the extreme step following depression, police said.

Police have taken the husband of the deceased B Aruna into custody on the charge of abetting suicide.
