Car accident near Addakula - Sakshi Post

Addakula (Mahbubnagar): A ghastly road accident took place near Addakula of Mahbubnagar on Sunday when the victim was dragged by a car for almost two kilometers before passersby caught up to the vehicles and stopped it; but not before those if the car managed to flee from the spot.

A couple Thurpu Maheshwaramma(46) and Sidhalinga who belonged to Gajulapeta village of rural Mahbubnagar were on their way to visit their daughter in Vanaparthi. They were travelling on a TVS moped when they were rammed by a car from behind, just after they crossed Addakula.

The impact left Maheshwaramma stuck to the front portion of the car. Instead of stopping the car the driver kept on moving for about two kilometers with Maheshwaramma’s body lying tangled in front of the car.

Passersby who noticed this made haste to catch up with the vehicle and stop it. Noticing this, the driver and those with him in the car abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot.

The woman died on the spot and her husband Sidhalingam who was grievously injured was moved to a government hospital in Mahbubnagar for treatment.

The police have registered a case and investigating further.
