Woman Denied Entry Into House By In-Laws For Giving Birth To Girl child
Alur (Kurnool): At a time when government is bringing about an awareness among people on the importance of girl child, craze for boy child continues. A woman was not allowed into the house by her in-laws as she could not give birth to a male child. The incident occurred in Suluvai village in Holagunda mandal in Kurnool district.
According to the police, Kuruba hotel owner Paramesappa's third daughter Mamata was married to Gadi Lingappa, who belongs to Suluvai village, a year ago. A sum of Rs 60,000 and six tulas of gold were given as dowry during the marriage.
Mamata came to her parents house in Alur and gave birth to girl child in February early this year. After completion of five months on Monday, her father Paramesappa along with family members accompanied her to in-laws house in Alur.
When they arrived at the house, the family members of Mamatha's in-laws started blaming Mamatha for not giving birth to a boy child. They decided not to allow Mamatha inside the house. Mamatha's husband Gali Lingappa was not present at house. The victim along with her father Paramesappa approached the police. Based on a complaint, the police registered a case of harassment against Mamatha's in-laws and launched investigation.
