Woman Critical After Husband Throws Acid On Her

Nellore: A woman was battling for life after her husband threw acid on her near Kasumuru Dargah in the town, on Friday.

The woman identified as Mansood Shabana (34) lost her eye sight in the attack. According to the police, Shabana and her husband Karim Basha were married for six years. It was a second marriage for both of them. However, owing to domestic and financial probelms, Karim Basha wanted to relocate to another town. The victim was said to be against the idea of relocating. On Friday, they picked up an argument on the same issue and Karim Basha threw acid from a bottle which he brought along with him.

As Shabana screamed following the attack, neighbours rushed her to Government hospital where doctors declared her condition to be critical. Karim Basha is said to be absconding.
