Woman Cons Youth Through Facebook, Forcibly Marries Him, Books Cases, Demands Rs 5 Lakh To Withdraw Them
A woman took advantage of the anonymity offered by social media giant Facebook, forcibly married a youth and demanded Rs 5 lakh in lieu of withdrawing domestic violence case.
The incident happened in Prakasam district's Chirala. According to the police, Vinjamuri Ravikumar, a software engineer in Hyderabad, met a woman who identified herself as Challa Pallavi and became close to her. She posted the pic of a Malayali heroine and made Ravi fall head over heels over her.
On inquiry, it emerged that her real name was Uyyala Kanaka Mahalakshmi (35) and that she was a known offender. SEveral cases of chain-snatching, theft and cheating were registeed against her in Tirupati, Kandukuru and Narketpalli.
Later, she told him that her father was Ongole DSP. On enquiries, Ravi found that Ongole DSP doesn't have any daughter by that name. Later, she called him up again and told him that she escaped from the clutches of her father and was lodged in a Hyderabad-based hotel. An unsuspecting Ravi went to the hotel.
But as he entered the house, a dark, fat lady pulled him inside and closed the door. She forcibly exchanged garlands and took the pics. A shocked Ravi informed his parents and relatives.
She claimed that she was Mounika. A shocked Ravi tried to escape but, in the meanwhile, the lady lodged a complaint that he was harassing her and was insulting her in the name of her caste. She also demanded Rs 5 lakh from him to withdraw the cases. While she was bringing Ravi to Chirala, Ravi's relatives encountered her. Seeing them, she scooted from the spot.
