Amaravati: A woman identified as Kalyani attempted suicide at Andhra Pradesh assembly on Wednesday. The incident occurred at the second gate of the assembly triggering tad unrest.

Kalayani hailing from Srikakulam, works as a Group 4 employee. She came to meet AP chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to narrate her ordeal of not being paid salaries from past few months.

As she was thwarted in a bid to enter the assembly, she consumed sleeping pills. Soon she was shifted to a hospital in Mangalagiri. Her condition is said to be stable.

Earlier too she indulged in same behavior, to which she was given Rs 25,000 by the chief minister. However, talk became prevalent that Kalyani does the act only to garner attention.
