Woman arrested for making fake certificates
Hyderabad: Hyderabad city west zone task force police on Thursday arrested a woman who had been selling fake certificates of SSC, Intermediate, UG and PG courses from various universities and educational institutions across the country at thousands of rupees per certificate at SR Nagar in Hyderabad.
Police filed a case and seized 33 fake certificates, one computer and cash amount of Rs.10,200 from the woman.
They said, Nagamouni, who belongs to Kakinada of Andhra Pradesh, had shifted to Hyderabad in 2005 and had been living in SR Nagar alongwith her husband and children. As her husband was jobless, Nagamouni worked as a counselor at Ameerpet Model Academy. After it was closed, she changed to another institute. But to her fate it was also stopped its business which Nagamouni and her family were left without a living and pushed them into finacial problems.
In 2010, to get out of the financial woes, Nagamouni started her own company at Nandivilla Apartments in SR Nagar on the name of EDP Technologies. But the company did not fare well. Then she decided to make money by doing illegal practices and started the business of fake certificates of SSC, Intermediate, Degree, Engineering, MBA and MCA of various universities and recognised educational institutions like Vinoba Bave, Hazaribhag, CMG, Meghalaya, HaranSingh and other universities. Nagamouni used to create fake certificates and supplied them to the needed persons charging money in thousands for each via the brokers.
She made a lot of money by charging Rs.75,000 for Engineering , Rs.50,000 for MBA, Rs.40,000 for MCA, Rs15,000 for Degree and Rs.12,000 for Intermediate fake certificates. She also used social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook for her business, police said who busted the racket of fake certificates racket on a tip.
After seizing a computer, 33 fake certificates including some cash amount of Rs.10,200 from her, police arrested Nagamouni and registered a case against her.
