Acid attack on Woman by Ex-husband

Hyderabad: A woman fell prey to an acid attack by her ex-husband following a spat between the two.

A 38-year-old woman in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, suffered burn injuries on her face after her former husband allegedly poured acid on her, the police said.

 The incident occurred near Kalur Cross Roads of Tirupati rural of the district when the accused Khaja Hussain, who divorced the victim a few years ago, allegedly poured acid on her face resulting in injuries to her, Tirupati (West Sub-Division) DSP J Srinivasulu told.

 The incident seems to be the result of some family dispute, the DSP said, adding that efforts are on to catch the accused who is absconding.

 Chandragiri police have filed a case and further probe is on in this incident.
