Woman, 4 Others Arrested For Fabricating Accident On Dead Husband For Insurance Money

A devious plan to make a normal death look like an accidental death to claim insurance amount has landed four persons, including the deceased person's wife in jail.The incident occurred in Sugali Colony in Pedaravuru of Tenali mandal in Guntur district.

According to the police, Ramawat Katna Naik (56) died due to ill health on Wednesday morning at his home. But, the family members, including his wife, two sons in law and two other relatives planned to claim the insurance amount of Rs 10 lakh which Naik had insured himself only a month ago.

As part of the plan, they took the body to a desolate place near China Parimi Donka in an auto and crushed it with a car which they requisitioned from a relatives. They left the body on the road. Later, farmers noticed the body and informed the police, who rushed to the spot.

But, the police grew suspicious as there was no blood at the scene of the offence as also no injury marks on the body. On suspicion, they questioned Naik's sons in law. It did not take long for them to break and they spilled the beans. Naik's wife, two sons in law and two other relatives were arrested. The body was sent for post-mortem.
