With 3 Rape Cases On Single Day, Delhi Reinforces Its Infamy 

New Delhi: The national capital was smeared as 'rape capital' again after three sexual assaults surfaced on Sunday, wherein two of the victims are minors aged eight and third one is a 38-year-old woman.

The woman was sexually assaulted by an Uber driver, Kamal(45), on Thursday but she gave details to the police on Saturday as she had difficulty in recollecting as she suffers from a memory loss. She said that she visited Karkardooma courts on some work where she met one Kamal, who was an Uber driver, and asked for help in finding a job. He then took her to his home in Ghaziabad and raped her as his family was not at home.

"Kamal told her he might have some work for her but has to ask his wife first. He then took her to his residence where he raped her, committed unnatural sex and brutally beat her. He then dropped her near Karkardooma court," said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police.

The woman who was in pain visited Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Kalyanpuri, where doctors reported the incident to police after examining her. The accused who was married twice and has four children was arrested on Sunday.

In another shocking incident, an eight-year-old girl was raped by a man in front of his teenage daughter. The 36-year-old is a widower, who lived in the victim's neighborhood with his two daughters. At the time of the crime, the accused had gone to a park in the locality with one of his daughters, where he saw the victim playing. He lured the girl by offering sweets, took her and his daughter to an isolated place and sexually assaulted the girl in front of his teenage daughter. The victim narrated the incident to her mother who then informed the police. The man has been arrested and the victim and teenage daughter of the accused were being counseled.

In the third incident, the victim, an eight-year-old was raped by her father's friend on Friday evening..The 32-year-old man lived in the same building as the victim’s family and was their landlord’s son-in-law, a police officer said. The accused sexually assaulted the girl when she went out to play near her house. Initially hesitant to tell her parents, she told them about the incident on Saturday after which the girl’s parents filed a complaint with the police and the accused was arrested.
