In a bizarre incident, a man killed his wife for allegedly pestering him to buy her gold.

The incident took place at Lingampalli of D.Hirehal mandal in Anantapur. 

The accused, identified as Mallanna, was arrested by the police soon after the crime. The deceased has been identified as Nagaveni.
According to police, Mallanna, who hails from Lingampalli, has two wives. Unable to bear his harassment, first wife secured divorce eight years ago. Later, he married to one Nagaveni who belonged to Kannekuppa of Karnataka.
Mallanna made some good money due to the recent cotton crop yield.
Nagaveni wanted him to buy gold for her. But Mallanna refused to buy her any gold. Fed up of the constant nagging for not buying the gold, Mallanna forcibly hit her on the head. She died on the spot. To escape from the cases, he tried to project the murder as suicide. He poured the kerosene and tried to set her on the fire. The locals got suspicious and informed the police. Police reached the spot immediately and took him into custody.
During the interrogation, Mallanna confessed to killing his wife,
