Hyderabad: YSRCP MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy slammed State and the Central Governments for denying Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. Speaking at the media point in the Assembly after Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad disallowed YSRCP’s demand for a discussion on Special Status on Thursday, he said the Prime Minister had gone back on the word he has given to the people of Andhra Pradesh.
He said: “TDP government has dashed the hopes of the people. The Chief Minister so far has not said anything formal on special status. Chandrababu Naidu didn’t even respond to our demand for discussion on special status. Everyone in Andhra Pradesh wants special status for the state. Two months ago, Naidu said his blood was boiling over the statements from the Centre on special status. Now, the Centre categorically said that special status was not possible. Why is his blood not boiling?”
“We will continue to fight for the Special State Status for Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
