Who will be Lok Satta's next president?
Looks like veteran leader Jayaprakash Narayan is making big plans.
Lok Satta Party president Jayaprakash Narayan is all set to give up his party president post. But the million dollar question is who will replace JP and where does he go next?
According to party sources, the party would be releasing the notification for state presidential elections soon. The Lok Satta is reportedly planning to elect a new state president in a secret voting procedure.
The Lok Satta party has presence in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Delhi. After completing the process of presidential elections, JP would gear up for a key role in national politics, it is learnt.
On Monday, JP told news persons that he stood by the decision not to contest for the post of the state president. He even made it clear that if at all, he would again contest from Kukatpally constituency.
Interestingly, even if JP contests in Kukatpally, he won't be able to win without the support of other parties.
It's worth mentioning here that JP is the founder of the party. Now, if he's quitting the big post then what are his future plans? Does JP have a plan B?
The buzz, however, in the political circle is that the Lok Satta president has his eyes set on the Aam Aadmi Party. Sources say, JP is particularly keen on meeting Kejriwal. This has given rise to the speculation that JP did not meet Anna Hazare when the latter visited the city earlier this week as he's likely to team up with Kejriwal.
It's a well known fact that Anna Hazare pioneered the anti-corruption movement in India. History also show that JP was a strong campaigner of clean politics in the county. Yet, JP giving Hazare meeting a miss raises several questions.
