Who is Raghubar Das?

Raghubar Das who is all set to become the chief minister of Jharkhand might be largely unknown outside his state. But, he is quite popular in RSS-BJP circles as a dedicated worker and organiser.
Here are some facts about the man who would become the CM of one of the most troubled state in the country.
* He was born on December 18, 1954 in Jamshedpur.
* He is a law graduate and did some practice before taking to politics full time.
* He comes from a large family of three brothers and three sisters. He is married and has two children.
* He is with the BJP since its inception in 1980. Became an MLA in 1995 from Jamshedpur East.
* He became a minister in Babulal Marandi and Arjun Munda governments. He was the deputy chief minister when Shibu Soren of the JMM was the chief minister in 2009.
* He was the state BJP chief twice.
* He was made the party national vice-president in August 2014 after Amit Shah took over as national president.
