When TDP Cadres Complain Against Their Own Leader
Vijayawada: Members of the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have a strange habit of complaining against their colleagues within the party, thereby grossly exposing fissures among them.
Evidences submitted by Roads and buildings minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu to the SIT that is probing the land scams is a case in point. The minister submitted evidences against his ministerial colleague Ganta Srinivasa Rao alleging that the latter's company had mortgaged government lands and raised Rs 190 crore from banks. The company, Pratyusha Associates, promoted by Ganta had encroached upon government land which originally belonged to the district central library at Prahladapuram area in Visakhapatnam. The land is now worth Rs 100 crore and it was given on lease to Pratyusha associates by the state government to develop a multiplex in 2009. Though MoU was cancelled in 2014, the company is the possession of the lands. Another TDP leader Thota Nagesh, too, lodged a similar complaint against Pratyusha Associates.
Meanwhile, opposition parties are terming the investigations by SIT as a mere eye wash. They state that the restricted terms of investigation will not bring to book the real culprits in the land scam. It may be noted that the SIT has fixed a deadline of July 15 for receiving complaints from various sections of people with regard to the Vizag land scam.
