What Happened at Pawan-JP Meeting?
Lok Satta founder and former civil servant Jayaprakash Narayan said today that Pawan Kalyan who had a flourishing career as a leading star, got himself into trouble by
plunging into politics. Does his statement suggest that the actor-turned-politician is not quite ready for a career in politics? That is not quite clear. However, JP said that the Centre should honour the assurances that were given to Andhra Pradesh.
JP made these comments while addressing the media along with Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan. He also said that if people have to get their due, everybody needs to come together to fight this battle. It is not fair to go back on the promises made after they have been included and incorporated in the Act. He added that assurances given to Telangana also need to be fulfilled. He stressed on the fact that commitments made for economic development must be met. Special category status is aimed at those regions which are backward and need additional focus. He cited the example of
Bundelkhand which had received Rs. 4,000 cr from the Centre.
