T20s: The star batsman played a crucial role in the Asia Cup T20 besides scoring a staggering 273 runs in the T20 World Cup. He was declared 'Player of the Tournament' in the T20 World Cup.

IPL Records: 2016 also saw Virat become the only player to surpassing the 900-run mark in a single season of IPL. To top it up, he is the only batsman to score four centuries in a single IPL season.

Records in Tests: Virat Kohli also scored two double centuries in the cricket series with West Indies and New Zealand. He now has the unique record of being the only Indian captain to score two double centuries in test cricket.
