Weaver commits suicide - Sakshi Post


A powerloom weaver committed suicide by consuming pesticide in his house at Indiranagar locality of Sircilla town on Thursday.

As per reports, Chityala Laxminarayana a native of Sircilla used to work on power looms to eke out a living.
He performed the marriage of one of his daughters recently and incurred debts to the tune of Rs. 2 lakhs. Unable to clear the debts he had incurred on account of the marriage and other reasons, he resorted to this extreme act.
He is survived by wife, two daughters and a son. His relatives and neighbors staged a protest accusing the government of neglecting the poor by implementing power cuts for long hours and driving them to suicide. It may be recalled that the honorary president of the YSRCP, YS Vijayamma had highlighted the suffering of the weaver community in Sircilla through a protest (Cheneta Deeksha)
