'TRS Government Not Concerned About Farmers Welfare'
"Casting your vote for TRS party amounts to supporting an administration that is not concerned about the welfare of the farmers", YSR Congress party leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said on Monday.
Addressing a massive public meeting in Turrur as part of the party's campaign for the Warangal by-poll, he said the TRS government failed to come to the rescue of the farmers. He stated that the TRS failed to fulfill its poll promise of three acres of land for every Dalit family. On the first day of his campaign for the by-polls, YS Jagan addressed the electorate in Palakurti, Vardannapeta and Turrur.
At all the venues, he urged the people to question the TRS party about the necessity of the Warangal by-poll. The elections in Warangal are being held due to the whims of chief minister K Chadrasekhar Rao as he wants his men in the cabinet, YS Jagan said adding people would have been more happy if all the MPs had resigned in their demand for a special package for Telangana post bifurcation.
Recalling the regime of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, he said Aryogyasri was introduced to provide corporate medical facilities to the poor, the 108 service was introduced as a new emergency service, fee reimbursement for poor students and 25 paise interest for loans were all new and innovative measures for the people. He said that the YSR regime alone distributed 20.60 lakh acres of land to the people below the poverty line, whereas the TRS government in its 18 month rule has not even given 1,600 acres of land for the poor. YSRCP candidate for the Warangal by-poll Nalla Suryaprakash Rao, the party's Telangana unit president Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and several party leaders participated in the public meeting.
