Warangal Woman Dupes Youths Through Facebook, Arrested
Warangal: A Warangal woman was arrested on charges of duping a youth by using Facebook account here in the city.
According to the police, woman identified as Polepalli Pratyusha, who was residing near Subedari police station here in the city, allegedly extorted money from several youths after befriending them through Facebook.
The police recovered Rs 24,000 in cash, seven cellphones and a two-wheeler from her.
Pratyusha had recently befriended a youth — a native of Jagtial district and currently working in Dubai - through social networking site Facebook.
After a few months of Facebook friendship, she borrowed Rs 50,000 from him stating that she is in a financial difficulty. Believing in her words, the victim transferred the money to her bank account.
After receiving money, she immediately blocked his Facebook account and contact number. Learning that he was duped, the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint with them. The police swung into action and cracked the case.
