Warangal bypoll: TRS, Opp parties to name nominees in 2-3 days
Hyderabad: The ruling TRS, Opposition Congress and TDP-BJP combine would announce their candidates for the November 21 by-election to Warangal (SC) Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana in the next couple of days.
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said, TRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a meeting with party leaders on Thursady and appointed state Ministers as in-charges to oversee preparations for the Assembly segments under Warangal Lok Sabha constituency,
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would campaign in Warangal either on November 17 or 18.
AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh, held consultations with party leaders on selection of candidate here on Thursday and said the nominee would be announced in 2-3 days.
Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy and other party leaders held confabulations on the selection of candidate and also the strategy for the bypoll.
BJP leader Shekhar Rao expressed confidence that the party candidate would win the election. The process of filing nominations for the bypoll began on Wednesday and it will go on till November 4. Counting of votes would be taken up on November 24. The bypoll is necessitated by the resignation of sitting MP Srihari (TRS) after he became Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana.
