Vizag Smuggler gets life Imprisonment

Visakhapatnam: A local court on Wednesday sentenced a 30-year-old man to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife in 2013.

Besides the life term, Principal District Judge V Jaya Surya slapped a fine of Rs 1,000 on the convict Vanthala Nandu. Nandu, a resident of Duppalawada area under Sileru police station limits in Vizag agency.

Senior public prosecutor M Venugopala Rao said, the culprit Nandu was accused of killing his wife Vanthala Myna in 2013. Myna did not like that Nandu indulged in smuggling of ganja and the couple would quarrel over his illegal business.

On the fateful day, following an argument with her, Nandu beat her on head with a stick, after which she died. Sileru police had arrested Nandu and booked a case against him under Section 302 (murder) of IPC.
