Vizag Ranks At 3, Hyderabad At 22 In India’s Cleanest City Survey
New Delhi: Vishakapatnam ranked 3rd and Hyderabad figured at 22nd position in the country in a cleanliness survey conducted by the Centre under Swachh Survekshan 2017. The survey was conducted among 434 cities, the report of which was released on Thursday.
Hyderabad which stood at 19th position last year, declined by three positions three year. Another town Tirupati in AP stood at 9th position.
Releasing the report, Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said while Indore is the cleanest city in India, Bhopal gets the second position in the cleanliness ranking. While Gonda city from Uttar Pradesh is the dirtiest city and Bhusawal in Maharashtra stands second-last in the ranking.

Gujarat has the maximum of 12 cities among the top 50 clean cities, closely followed by Madhya Pradesh with 11 and Andhra Pradesh with eight. Uttar Pradesh accounted for half of the bottom 50 cities in the cleanliness ranking.
