Vizag ex-Mayor DV Subba Rao passes away - Sakshi Post

Former Mayor, former Chairman of the Bar Council of India and Andhra Cricket Association president D. V. Subba Rao passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Vizag on Saturday afternoon. He was 87.

Subba Rao, who has been suffering from a respiratory problem, admitted to the Care hospital on Thursday evening and was undergoing treatment in the ICU of hospital. He breathed his last on Saturday afternoon.
Subba Rao, who is known for legal acumen was the first lawyer from the moffusil region to be elected chairman of the Bar Council of India. He was a BJP leader and was the second mayor of Vizag city. He was elected Mayor (1987-92) after a hard-fought poll battle. He was chairperson of VUDA during 1985-87.
The former Andhra Cricket Association president was elected mayor of Visakhapatnam in 1987. He was manager of the Indian cricket team that toured West Indies during 1997.
He is survived by a son and two daughters.
