Don't Separate Us

Vijayanagaram: An elderly woman pleaded with a constable not to separate her from her village and her people.
The incident took place in Bhogapuram mandal of Vijayanagaram district on Wednesday. The constable, Ramnivas, was escorting revenue officials who had gone to Baireddypalem panchayat to conduct a survey for an upcoming airport. The woman, Appayamma, said she was born and brought-up in the village and will die in the same village, and pleaded with the constable by touching his feet not to separate the village lands from them.
The village land is expected to be taken over by the government for the construction of the airport.
