Vilas Rao Deshmukh's Condition still critical

Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday left for Chennai, where Union minister Vilasrao Deshmukh is "still critical" at a private hospital there, after being admitted for a liver-related ailment.

"Chavan and Pawar left for Chennai soon after the state cabinet meeting here", sources said.

An official at the Global Hospitals,where the 67-year-old Deshmukh is under treatment, on Wednesday said the Congress leader "is still critical and continues to be under observation".

Meanwhile, people in Deshmukh's home town Latur organized prayer meeting at the local Town Hall to wish their leader a speedy recovery.
