Vijay’s Mersal A Super Hit But Adirindhi Incurs 60 Cr Loss

Vijay's recent release did decent business at the box-office. Tamil flick Mersal did tremendous business and has been ranked next to Baahubali-The Conclusion at the Tamil Nadu Box office.

Total collections of Tamil Mersal were of the order of Rs 250 Cr. The Tamil version was released on October 18, but the Telugu version Adirindhi was released later due to various issues, including delay in getting censor clearance, and did badly at the box-office.

According to sources, Vijay's Adirindhi has incurred Rs 60 Cr loss. Despite lot of aniticipation and hype, the film's Telugu version turned out to be a disappointment for Vijay

Vijay did a triple role in the film - a doctor, a villager and a magician. Though he wowed Tamil audience, the Telugu audience were lukewarm to him.Kajal, Samantha and Nithya Menen played foils for Vijay's three roles.

On the professional front, Vijay has signed his next flick with AR Murugadoss which is set to go on floors by the end of December.
