Vijayamma's deeksha to fight for students' cause

The honorary president of the YSR Congress Party, Y.S. Vijayamma announced a two-day hunger strike on September 6 and 7 in protest against the revised Fee reimbursement  policy of the government.

She observed that thousands of students would be deprived of their right to pursue professional education, if the government imposed fresh restrictions and regulations to water down the pioneering fee reimbursement scheme conceived by the late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
Vijayamma demanded that the government should reimburse fees to all students irrespective of their rank in EAMCET to ensure that the benefits of the scheme percolate to the poorest of poor students.
