Vijayamma writes to PM on Indians in Saudi Arabia
YS Vijayamma, honorary president of YSR Congress on Friday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking his intervention to rescue 12 lakh Indians in Soudi Arabia from the new Act to be promulgated there.
She said the Saudi Government was introducing a new labour law with which 12 lakh Indian workers would be affected and more than one lakh Telugu people would forego employment. She asked the Prime Minister to take initiative and discuss with Soudi Government on the issue. She also requested the PM to take steps to prevent any hardship to the Indians especially the Telugu people. The Indians should be given enough time before promulgating the law and sought high-power committee for the safety of the Indians.
