Vijayamma's health critical: Doctors

The health condition of YSR Congress party honorary president YS Vijayamma, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike in Guntur since August 19 has deteriorated.

Vijayamma is fasting to press the Centre to maintain status quo if it cannot do equal justice to all regions. Her fast entered fifth day on Friday.

A team of specialists examined Vijayamma and said that her blood pressure and pulse rate has dropped drastically. This has caused a major concern among party members.
Doctors attending to Vijayamma stressed that her health was failing due to dipping blood sugar levels.
Meanwhile, several people joined Vijayamma's fast to extend their support to the cause.
