Vigilance & Enforcement SP Caught Accepting Rs1 Lakh Bribe
Hyderabad: Nalgonda Superintendent of Police, Vigilence & Enforcement, Bhaskar Rao was caught accepting a bribe of Rs1 lakh from a rice miller on Thursday.
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) slueths arrested the SP at Nalgonda and raids are being conducted on his houses in Hyderabad and Warangal. This is the second time Bhaskhar Rao caught in the act, the first being a similar bribery case while working in Karimnagar.
On a complaint lodged by the miller Repala Bhadradi who was asked by the SP to pay him Rs1 lakh for giving clearance certificate for the produce at his mill, an ACB team consisting of three DSPs acted and caught the corrupt official red-handed.
In fact, Vigilence & Enforcement wing is entrusted with the responsibility of checking the quality and compliance by companies, industries and others and is an arm of the police department.
